This year's graduation ceremony celebrated 100 students ready to make their marks as contributing citizens of their communities large and small. They have impressed everyone at Rye Country Day with their curiosity and passion, their inclusive and kind approach, their skills on the field, on the stage, and beyond, and their dedication to the RCDS motto, "Not for Self, but for Service."
The ceremony kicked off with the senior class speaker, Clayton Bass. Clayton reflected on his 14 years at RCDS, noting that although much has changed "the collaborative and generous spirit of this institution and its students" has not.
Next, the 2018 commencement speaker, New York State Assemblyman Steven Otis, Rye Country Day School Class of 1975, encouraged graduates to "use the skills encouraged here to live a life of consequence...and know that this community is always behind you."
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the 2018 Alumni Prize. Alumni Executive Board President Scott Weiss '96 awarded the prize to seniors Jenna Cohn and David Jensen. Congratulations!
