As a part of their interdisciplinary study of Native American culture, Grade 4 students used the ancient process of flintknapping to create beautiful jewelry using nothing but pieces of stone, water, and a little elbow grease! After carefully using a larger rock and water to gently shape their stone, students used tools to drill a hole for the string and scratch a Native American pictograph symbolizing an aspect of nature onto the surface.
The finished products were fabulous!
