The Upper School Concert Choir recently welcomed R&B, gospel, blues, and jazz singerVaneese Thomas to the rehearsal room for a masterclass in the history and performance of gospel music. Ms. Thomas has worked with numerous renowned collaborators, including producer Phil Ramone and singers Luciano Pavarotti, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Eric Clapton, and Dr. John, among many others.
Ms. Thomas worked with the RCDS choir and soloist to expand their understanding of the musical and social history of Gospel music and to help them with specific performance practices. Ms. Thomas will also be joining the choir on stage for the 25th Festival Chorus Concert in January.
